Birgunj, July 24(RSS):Nine-year-old Ankit Kumar Shah of Simara Sub Metropolis-7, Bara who was kidnapped one and half months ago has been found murdered. The Bara Police has reached to a conclusion that the child was killed after his abduction on June 5. An unidentified group forcibly picked him up near from his house at Jeetpur while the child was playing.
Being based on statements given by one Ajay Patel who was recently arrested from Sikta Bazar of Bihar, India for his alleged involvement in the abduction and a body of a child found Monday as it was buried near the lGandak Canal at Jagarnathpur of western Parsa, the District Police Office, Bara reached to this conclusion. According to Bara’s Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ranjeet Singh Rathaur, the body was massively decayed and it was not possible to retrieve it as a whole. Only some bone parts and teeth were extracted from the body for the DNA test.
The second accused in the killing, Ram Prabesh Shah of Ranighat, Birgunj, who was arrested in course of the investigations into the case, informed to the police about the location where the body was buried.
It may be noted that the Shah family paid a ransom of Indian rupees 1.5 million to the kidnappers. However, the police are waiting for the report of DNA test for further confirmation. The facial traits of the body are similar to of the child.
However, the Jeetpur folks have accused the police of failing to deal with the case effectively.
Simara Sub Metropolis mayor Dr Krishna Poudel told the RSS that a lack of coordination between the Bara and Parsa police and a strong police response to the case provided a ground to the kidnappers to kill the boy.
Child’s father Lalan Prasad paid the ransom to the abductors without informing about it to the police in the hope of getting his son back unhurt.
