Baglung, Jan 29 (RSS): Galkot municipality has begun constructing a meeting hall in ward-2, Narethanti with a target to complete it by mid-April.
Galkot Mayor Bharat Sharma Gaire informed that the meeting hall is to be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 6.5 million. The construction of municipal meeting hall is as part of the plan of ‘municipal pride’ – which is being implemented in all 11 wards of the municipality.
It will be easier for the municipality to organise its regular programmes and events. “The meeting hall will be constructed within the stipulated time”, said Yam Bahadur Shrish, meeting hall construction committee chairperson.
The under-construction meeting hall has the capacity to accommodate more than 120 people.
Along with the meeting hall, the municipality also has put forth infrastructure-focused municipal pride projects in other wards. The municipal assembly has endorsed the plan and budget for the construction of municipal pride projects, which are targeted for sustainable development of the municipality, said Mayor Gaire.
“The budget allocation is centralised to implement prime plans”, he said, adding that, “The plans are selected considering the needs and long-term importance”.
The pride projects will be helpful in realising the campaign of prosperous Galkot, Mayor Gaire shared.
The pride projects include road blacktopping, construction and renovation of health posts and development of tourism infrastructure.
