Padlock in Solu Hydropower field office ends after 11 days

Salleri, Solukhumbu, May 30 (RSS): The field office of Upper Solu Hydropower Company that was padlocked for past 11 days has been opened on Tuesday.
The local residents had padlocked the field office of the project after the latter issued its share in the name of the political parties.
Chairman of Solu Dhudhkunda Municipality-2 Mingmar Sherpa said that the fresh deal was made following the agreement with the project developers and the affected community at the locality.
The local residents along with people’s representatives had protested after the project issued share worth Rs 60 million in the name of three major political parties.
As per the agreement on Tuesday, the project would issue share in the name of the general public. Likewise, the project would allocate 400,000 unit promoter shares to the highly-affected community and directly affected ones.
