PM Oli for due compensation for losses Ex-Gurkhas incurred

Kathmandu, April 21 (RSS): Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the Government of Nepal would take concrete steps and hold talks with the British Government to address the demands of the Ex-Gurkhas, who served in the British Army. At a meeting with a delegation of Gurkha Army Ex-Servicemen’s Organisation (GAESO) today, the PM said that the government would take initiatives to address their appropriate demands though talks.
On the occasion, the PM said that the government was holding talks with the British government to address the demands raised by the ex-Gurkhas, according to PM Oli’s Secretariat. “I found the British Government eager to address the just demands of the ex-Gurkhas. Our genuine issues should be shared twice, thrice. I am assured the demands of the ex-Gurkhas can be addressed in an appropriate manner,” the PM said.
During the meeting, PM Oli said that the British won the wars due to participation of the Gurkhas but added that discrimination and inequality to the Gurkhas in other times except in wars was unfortunate.
