Bhaktapur, June 11
The Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, has fixed a new speed limit on the vehicles plying the Araniko Highway in the district, from Sanga of Kavre border to Manohara Bridge of Kathmandu border. The limit was imposed with an objective of reducing road accidents. From Tuesday, no vehicle or two-wheeler can go more than 50 km per hour speed limit, according to SP Sabin Pradhan of the Range.
He says that action would be taken immediately against the drivers violating this rule. Pradhan says, “We will measure the speed limit today.” According to him, police can measure the speed of vehicles plying the highway anytime. He informs that this rule has been brought into practice by holding discussions with stakeholders.RSS
