Chitwan, July 27 (RSS): Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said Nepali Congress would continue its protest until the single party held the posts of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the federal parliament.
Talking to journalists here Friday, President Deuba said, “It is our major demand that the ruling party needs to quit the post of either Speaker or Deputy Speaker.”
He however said government’s agreement with Dr KC was a welcome step. He suggested the government to implement the agreement effectively. President Deuba also argued that even his party assisted on addressing KC’s strike.
President Deuba has been here to inaugurate the national general convention of the Democratic Lawyers Association to begin in Gaidakot tomorrow. He expressed objection to the firing made to the drivers of three-wheelers in Chitwan.
Similarly, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel said the protest NC was to begin from July 31 would be the demonstration against government. He accused the government of acting arbitrarily, and imposing exorbitant tax.
On a different note, he said the mahasamiti meeting of the party would resolve the dispute in the party.
